The Health and Physical Education curriculum conrtibutes to lifelong physical activity participation and enhanced performanced through development of proficient movement skills, physical activity and movement concepts and understanding of how the body moves. Through movement "students can acquire, practise and refine personal, behavioural, social and cognitive skills" (ACARA 2015).

VCE Physical Education
Through the integration of a theoretical and practical apporach, VCE Physical Education explores, "the biological, physiological, psychological, social and cultural influences on performance and participation in physical activity" (VCAA 2010). The course focuses on the "complex interrelationship between motor learning and pschological. biomedical, physiological and sociological factors that influence physical performances together with the wider social attitudes to and understanding of physical activity".
