Professional Experience

Camberwell Girls GRammar School Associate Teacher Program

Camberwell Girls Grammar School in association with Deakin University offer an Associate Teacher Program to 4th year Health and Physical Education students. In 2015 I was chosen (from my total student cohort) to participate in this yearlong internship. This program involved the completion of my 4th year teaching placements in Health, Physical Education and Science and required me to be involved in GSV sports coaching and administration throughout the year. I also attended year 9 camp, where I was appointed a group leader and contributed to the organisation of house and school carnivals. Through this program I have been able to immerse myself in the school curriculum and become an active member of the school community. I have formed many professional relationships that has benefitted my ongoing reflection and planning and being a consistent presence within the school has allowed me to create engaging lessons tailored towards students needs, abilities and interests.

Camberwell Girls GRammar School Netball Program Co-ordinator

While at Camberwell Girls Grammar School as an Associate Teacher, I was appointed the Saturday Netball Program Co-ordinator. This role involves the co-ordination of over 100 players and 18 coaches across 16 teams alongside all Saturday netball activities, training and matches. To ensure the ogranisation and implementation of the program is successful, I am required to constantly liase with various departments within Camberwell as well as the Boroondara Netball Association. This requires extensive communication and interpersonal skills in order to make decisions, problem solve and deal with any issues that may arise. Through this role, I have developed a strong rapport with the netball community at Camberwell Girls Grammar and have developed strong communication skills in order to handle general enquires, grievances and problems. Being appointed this role has been one of the highlights of my year and I am so glad that I can share my passion for netball with players, parents and coaches.

Team Holiday

Volunteer Roles

I have taken on a number of volunteer roles outside of my studies that have helped develop my teaching identity. Through volunteer roles at Lilydale High School, Ashwood Special School and Yea Highschool I have been able to participate in various camps, interschool sport, sport carnivals, excursions and end of year activities. Additionally I was able to observe HHD and VCE Biology classes at Lilydale High School.

As a Holiday Care Co-ordinator at Team Holiday I am responsible for the planning and running of daily programs and activities. This role requires the supervision of primary aged children by providing them with engaging holiday activities that are unlike other programs. Through this role I have developed an understanding of the needs of younger children and therefore I believe that I could confidently teach in a primary environment. Furthermore the use of positive behaviour management has allowed children to become active in taking responsibility for their own behaviour. This position has been powerful in bringing out my inner child and further reinforces my passion to create memorable experiences for my students.

Rolling Hills Netball Club

I have had a long standing committment to Rolling Hills Netball Club through playing, coaching and being apart of the committee. I have played with the club since I was 10 and coached teams from 13U up to 17U. My time as a committee member saw me in charge of communications including the running of social media pages and websites, creation of flyers and the oragnisation of events.
