My Teaching Philosophy
I believe in creating a dynamic and innovative classroom that caters towards the individual learning needs, interests and abilites of students. I aim to lead by exampe and encourage students to lead a healthy and active lifestyle while also encouraging a passion for lifelong learning.
As students construct meaning from their pre-existing knowledge and experiences, I aim to develop a learning environment based on constructisivm and Bloom's Taxonomy in order to facilitate the development of inquiry processes and critical thinking skills. In order to cater towards a diverse range of students it is important to me to develop a strong rapport with students both inside the classroom and within the school community to better cater towards their individual needs and interests. Furthermore my dedication to ongoing professional learning and use of ICT to enhance learning will allow me to ultimately create learning experiences that resonate deeply and inspire students to reach their potential.
I firmly believe that students should be given the opportunity to take responsbility for their own learning experiences and I aim to facilitiate the development of strong personal values, collboration, knowledge and the 21st century skills needed for students to become active citizens in their local and global communities.
